Title: Building Structures... Three Things
Before listening to this pod cast write down things you consider to be important in teaching. When you hear the word "structures" what does that make you think of? After jotting down your ideas, listen to the pod cast.
As a teacher structure is one of the elements that will enhance academic potential regarding student learning. I have put together a podcast that describes three different structures that should be considered as you begin to teach. I invite you to listen to the linked podcast on Building Structures and then share your thoughts, stories or comments about working with middle school students. Each of these structures can be broken down into sections. You as a teacher can choose which of the structures you view as most valuable.
Building Structures: Three Things
1) Rituals, Routines, Rewards, and Consequences
2) Planning Fabulous Lessons
3) Taking care of YOU
As you listen to the podcast I hope you will develop ideas for working with your students to maximize their learning outcomes. Take the attached sheet and brainstorm ideas you have that you consider important. Share these on this blog with one another.
